Kellen Company Names Peter Rush Chairman & CEO

Kellen Company has named Peter Rush as chairman and chief executive officer, effective January 1, 2007. Rush is a noted leader in the non-profit sector with expertise in governance, board development, strategic planning, marketing and public relations.

Rush is based in Kellen’s New York City office and is responsible for the day-to-day executive leadership and management of the company, including the operation of its five worldwide offices and four service divisions. In his new role as chairman, he will also oversee Kellen Company’s Board of Directors and will remain as a trustee of the company’s Employee Stock Ownership Trust, along with President Richard E. Cristol and Vice Chairman Robert Gelardi.

“Peter Rush has a long history of achievements with Kellen Company and its clients,” said Gelardi, who assumed the vice chairman position on January 1, 2007. “He has served as executive director for more than 10 associations, managed award-winning, international marketing campaigns and has been instrumental in carrying out the company’s vision, mission and values.”

“Over the past decade, I have experienced the steady growth and success of Kellen Company, and of the association management industry as a whole,” said Rush. “I am excited to guide Kellen in its future strategies and goals and to continue to work with such a talented management team.”

Kellen Company provides professional services to fill the rising demand from associations and other not-for-profit companies from its offices in Atlanta, Washington D.C., New York City, Tucson and Brussels, Belgium, and through its strategic alliance in Beijing, China. The Company serves more than 100 clients representing over 10,000 companies. Among the services Kellen offers are association management, government affairs, public relations, strategic advice, meetings management, creative communications and Web site development and marketing.

Rush joined Kellen Company in 2001, when it merged with the New York City-headquartered firms of Sumner Rider Snyder, an association management company, and Sumner Rider & Associates, a public relations agency, of which he was president and chief executive officer.

A graduate of Brown University with a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations, Rush holds a Masters of Arts degree from the University of Florida. He has served on the Board of Directors of both the International Association of Association Management Companies and the Association Council of the American Society of Association Executives. He is active in numerous charitable and civic organizations.
