Association Management Companies Are Your Nonprofit's Path To Success
The Independent Electrical Contractors’ 40 Under 40 award recognizes IEC members and staff under age 40 who have made an impact on the electrical industry. One of the award winners hails from IEC of Washington: Darlene ‘Dar’ Seymour.
As an employee of an association management company, Seattle-based Innovative Management Solutions employee, Seymour also serves as IEC of Washington’s office manager. She started with IEC in 2008 as a receptionist. Within a few weeks, she gained a command of the program operations and the needed tracking software.
Over the years, Seymour took on more responsibility at IEC of Washington. She recruits new apprentices and guides them through the application, interview, placement and registration processes. She works very hard to give timely, accurate information, while under a heavy workload.
Seymour is consistently cheerful and helpful with all the apprentices, applicants and contractors. She strikes an easy relationship with all of them, and encourages a cooperative atmosphere, which positively reflects on IEC of Washington and the electrical trade as a whole.
In August 2014, she assumed her current role as office manager and took responsibility for internal operations functionality.
