Milwaukee-Based EDI’s Rebecca Brandt, CAE, Receives Forty Under 40 Award

Rebecca Brandt, CAE, of Executive Director, Inc., a Milwaukee-based association management company, was recently honored as a 2015 Forty Under 40 Award winner.

The Forty Under 40 Awards, which are presented by the Association Forum of Chicagoland and USAE, recognize 40 up-and-coming association or nonprofit professionals who are under the age of 40, demonstrate high potential for success in leadership roles and exhibit a strong commitment to the association management
profession.

“What sets Becky apart is her dedication to not only EDI and helping our clients realize their vision, but also her dedication to moving the association management profession forward,” said EDI President Kay A. Whalen, MBA, CAE.

Brandt, who joined EDI in 2003, has served numerous EDI client associations, including the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (AAAAI), the American Association of Medical Society Executives (AAMSE), and the International Society for Quality of Life Research (ISOQOL). She currently serves as Executive Director of three EDI client associations: the American College of Mohs Surgery (ACMS), the American Society for Mohs Histotechnology (ASMH), and the International Transplant-Skin Cancer Collaborative (ITSCC).

“Becky’s knowledge and experience with medical associations and her tremendous dedication to the ACMS has facilitated our great progress toward all pillars of our strategic plan,” said ACMS President John G. Albertini, MD, FACMS.

In addition to her work with EDI clients, Brandt is responsible for establishing an EDI mentoring program where new managers are paired with experienced managers. She is also the co-author of a white paper, “Associations in the War for Talent,” which details how associations are uniquely positioned to address workforce challenges being faced now and in the coming decade. The white paper is available at www.execinc.com/wsaetalentwar. Brandt and co-author Tamara J. Wagester‐Subrick presented its findings during the 2015 AMC Institute (AMCI) Annual Meeting. Brandt has also delivered webinars discussing the paper on behalf of EDI, AMCI, and the Wisconsin Society of Association Executives (WSAE).

“It is an honor to be recognized with a 2015 Forty Under 40 Award and I am very grateful to everyone who has supported, and continues to support, my career. I love serving associations and am proud to be a member of the EDI team,” said Brandt.
