Association Management Companies Are Your Nonprofit's Path To Success
The Western Psychological Association has selected an AMC Institute nonmember as WPA’s association manager.
The association was founded in 1921 for the purpose of stimulating the exchange of scientific and professional ideas and, in so doing to enhance interest in the processes of research and scholarship in the behavioral sciences.
WPA had employed a part-time executive officer who was retiring. The board looked for a management partner moving forward “to provide a stable and long term operational base for the organization.”
The association’s request for proposals was distributed on AMC Institute’s Online RFP System. AMC Advantage gave this opportunity the code name “Close Cobra”; it’s still viewable to AMC Institute members (you must be signed in to view).
WPA’s new association manager is based in Washington, D.C.
AMC Advantage’s current policy is not to identify AMC Institute nonmembers by name in its news columns because of the institute’s importance in driving the growth of the AMC model. We want everyone in the pool!
